I am the Vice President of the Resident Council and live in a nursing home that is owned by a group of attorneys that care more about the money then the care of the residents of the facilities they own since they own multiple facilities. They also have an administrator here that is unqualified for the position and avoids conflict with residents, staff, and families of residents. She hides in her office most of the time. We also have a head of activities that was hired as a favor due to the former administrator who happens to have a 5% managerial ownership in this facility which guarantees her a position here regardless her qualifications, She has also destroyed are wonderful activities department and we no longer have many fun activities anymore. Most of what we now have are geared toward 4-5 year old children. Our menu has also been the same for 4 years now and has not been changed even though federal regulations state it must be changed frequently and they don't care and this has even been reported to the health department and nothing gets done about this. The food is even served cold and tasteless and sometimes undercooked and served on dirty dishes and this is also reported to the health department and still nothing changes because the administration and ownership tells the resident they are looking into it and working on it and nothing ever changes because they refuse to fix any of the problems for any reasons.
