Respect Oversight Advocacy Reform
for Long Term Care
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
WHY ROAR EXISTS
ROAR exists because families like ours and
yours have suffered in a long-term care
system that too often hides its failures.

For over 50 years, residents, families, and frontline workers have raised concerns about neglect, understaffing, and lack of accountability. Yet meaningful change has been slow. Traditional advocacy efforts, while important, have too often remained trapped inside policy circles and professional echo chambers, and a powerful lobby with deep pockets that is dedicated to maintaining the status quo.

ROAR was created to reach beyond those walls and engage the public in a way that can't be ignored by using storytelling as a catalyst for change. We believe stories do what statistics alone cannot. They make the invisible visible. They build empathy. They move people from awareness to action.
Never doubt that a small
group of thoughtful committed individuals can change the
world. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has.

STORYTELLING STANDS
AT THE FRONTLINE OF CHANGE
Narratives connect emotionally, humanize complex issues, build shared identity, and motivate action better than data alone, making them essential for social movements, organizational shifts, and systemic transformation by illustrating possibilities and fostering empathy. Stories make abstract changes relatable, provide a vision for the future, and tap into frontline experiences, creating powerful, authentic communication that drives real behavioral and cultural shifts.
We use storytelling to expose systemic failures in long-term care, elevate silenced voices, and mobilize the public to demand accountability, deliver reform, and secure quality long-term care for all, once and for all. Through film, television, podcasts, social media, and lived experience, ROAR brings real stories into the public conversation and uses them to educate, mobilize, and demand accountability.

OUR VISION
ROAR envisions a world where long-term care ensures every resident is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, and receives the highest quality of care. A world where every generation can look toward the future without fear.
OUR MISSION
ROAR exists because families like mine and yours have suffered in a long-term care system that too often hides its failures. We use the power of storytelling to make the invisible visible - exposing neglect, amplifying the voices of residents, families, and frontline workers, and awakening a public that has looked away for far too long. Through film, television, podcasts, social media, and lived experience, we inspire younger and multigenerational advocates to speak up, demand accountability, and push for meaningful reform
